Forrest Graves, 36, pleaded guilty on Friday, Oct. 25 to second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release.
Atlantic City police responded to the Best of Life Park Apartments on South Virginia Avenue at around 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17. The building is near Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
Police received a report of a man taking off his clothes and refusing to leave the property. When police arrived, a staff member pointed out the naked man on the ground and he was later identified as Graves.
Officers tried to talk to Graves but he didn't respond. An ambulance was called and paramedics treated him.
Police found a black Ruger LCP .380-caliber gun with hollow-point ammunition in a pocket of Graves’ black shorts. He was arrested and brought to a hospital.
Graves' guilty plea called for a five-year state prison sentence. He would have to give up the gun and serve at least 3 1/2 years before being eligible for parole.
Graves will remain detained through his sentencing, which was scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025.
